Branches off the roof and lines, deadwood out, and a healthy shape.

Good trimming keeps branches off your roof, lets light into the yard, and takes out dead wood before it falls. We cut back to healthy wood at the right spot so the tree heals well, and we don't top trees.

Common trimming jobs

  • Clearing branches off the roof, gutters and siding
  • Raising the canopy over the driveway, sidewalk and lawn
  • Removing dead, broken and hanging limbs
  • Thinning a crowded tree so wind passes through it
  • Shaping young trees so they grow strong

How it works

How the job goes.

  1. Call or text and tell us which trees bother you.
  2. We walk the yard with you and agree on exactly what gets cut.
  3. The climber trims from inside the tree, so we don't need a lift in your yard for most jobs.
  4. We chip everything and clean up before we leave.

When is the best time to trim trees?

Late fall through winter is ideal for most trees here, because they're dormant and you can see the branches. Dead or dangerous limbs should come off any time of year.

Do you top trees?

No. Topping cuts a tree off flat at the top. It leaves weak regrowth and often kills the tree. We thin and reduce branches the right way instead.

Can you trim branches near the power line to my house?

Lines running pole to pole belong to the power company, so call them. For the line from the pole to your house, ask your power company about having it dropped or covered first, then we can work around it safely.

Will trimming hurt my tree?

Not when it's done right. We cut just outside the branch collar so the tree can seal the wound, and we never take off more than the tree can handle.
