Tall pines over the house taken down safely before the next storm.

Tall pines are the trees homeowners around Suwanee ask us about most. They grow fast, get top-heavy, and snap or uproot in storms, especially after a long wet spell softens the red clay around their roots.

We take pines down in sections with a climber and ropes so the trunk never falls across your roof or your neighbor's yard. Then we chip the tops, cut the trunk into rounds, and haul it away.

Why people remove pines

  • A pine leaning toward the house or getting taller every year
  • Brown or reddish needles and small holes with sap in the bark, which can mean pine beetles
  • A pine that lost its top or big limbs in a storm
  • Needles and sap all over the roof, cars and gutters

How it works

How the job goes.

  1. Call or text a photo of the pine.
  2. We look at the lean, the targets under it, and give a written price.
  3. The climber takes it down top to bottom in pieces.
  4. We haul the wood and clean up, and grind the stump if you want.

Are pine trees dangerous near a house?

A healthy pine is not automatically dangerous, but tall pines close to the house do break and uproot in storms. If one leans toward the house, is dying, or has beetle signs, it's worth having it looked at.

How do I know if my pine has beetles?

Look for needles turning brown from the top down, small lumps of sap on the bark, and fine sawdust at the base. Beetle-killed pines dry out fast and get brittle, so they should come down sooner rather than later.

Can you leave the wood for firewood?

Yes, tell us before we start and we'll cut it into rounds and leave it where you want it. Pine burns hot and dirty, though, so most people prefer we haul it.
